Find out about two projects on this page

1. Getting Your Voice Heard
3 day workshop on Drama and Presentation Skills
for
Refugees, Asylum Seekers and Supporters was held at the
Swansea Waterfront Museum

20, 21, 22nd August,

Led by Small World Theatre, Theatr Fforwm Cymru,
SBASSG and DPIA
Participants were able to develop skills for work or study. Build a team in Swansea able to speak out for refugees and asylum seekers.

The forum theatre process was facilitated by FForwm Theatr Cymru and Small World Theatre. The scenes were silent however the spectactors were able to intercede and replace the protagonist using speech. Issues were highlighted and participants saw the power of the medium. Especially the way in which a group can help seek alternative solutions to real problems.

2. A new all Wales Refugee training project

Details below

Refugees and Asylum Seekers
Planning Event

We would like to form a group who would like to be trained in theatre skills so that they can advocate for their fellows. Using drama and facilitation techniques the participants could help organisations, government
departments, service providers and other interested groups understand the potential difficulties that many refugees and asylum seekers face when communicating with British Institutions.
The meeting venue and dates are to be arranged soon.
