Gaza (2019) fundraising screening of the documentary with a post-film discussion.

  • Small World Theatre Bath-House Road Cardigan United Kingdom (map)

Join local fundraisers for a screening of Gaza, a 2019 documentary which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival to raise funds for The British Red Cross and International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement to help deliver aid to Gazans.

This documentary film is a portrait of ordinary folk. Gaza reaches beyond the news reels revealing a multifaceted picture of a people. Cinematic and sympathetic in scope, Gaza depicts a population beleaguered by conflict, but not defined by it, as Irish filmmakers Garry Keane and Andrew McConnell introduce us to a cast of extraordinary everyday Gazans.

The documentary now has an added poignancy in light of the continued brutalisation and attack on everyday Gazans in a land bound and blocked by Egyptian and Israeli borders and the Mediterranean sea.

After the screening

The events organisers have arranged for a representative of the International Committee of the Red Cross to explain about their work and where the fundraising money from tonight’s event is going. There will also be a Q&A session where we hope to connect to Garry Keane, film director, live online.

Please book your tickets through eventbrite.
