Booking is essential. Places are limited.

Please arrive on time because it takes a day to make a lantern from scratch using willow, tissue paper and glue.

Small World Theatre is delighted to announce the revival of the Cardigan Giant Lantern Parade on 8 December at 7pm, thanks to the support of the public through a fundraising appeal, Cardigan Town Council, Ceredigion County Council and Leafed Through community bookshop.

This year the theme is Fantastical Beasts! The parade will end in the grounds of our partners Cardigan Castle.

 
 

Suitable

Lantern Making is suitable for ages 8+ and all children must be accompanied by an adult. Families with younger children are encouraged to work together to make a small lantern. Please bring an apron/ overall and a packed lunch.

Spend the morning creating your lantern framework using sustainable materials. Get messy in the the afternoon adding glue and tissue paper to your willow frame. All lanterns are stored safely at Small World Theatre until the Parade.

Lantern Making Guidelines for the Public.

Lantern Making Workshop are limited to 70 people per Sunday and participants must book ahead.

Ages 8 + may wish to work on their own lantern while younger children (ages 6 – 7 years) must work with an adult.

We regret that due to high demand for places, we are offering one workshop per lantern maker/ family.

Suggested donations.

£10 donation covers the cost of 2 pyramid lanterns.

£30 covers the cost of a family making 3 lanterns together.
