This manual gives instructions for some of the techniques which have been
used by Small World Theatre in intergenerational participatory theatre work.
It is designed to support the Generation X website (www.genx.org.uk) and CD ROM.
Let's Get Started provides ideas for managing a theatre research process.
Moving Things On suggests strategies which you can use to convert the research into a performance which is performed by members of a community and reflects the realities of the lives of young and older people from that community. It is important for you to begin without preconceived ideas.Participants need to feel ownership of the process.
The activities you choose should enable participants to feel safe to express their own concerns and to reveal the realities of their lives.
