"Best show I've seen in this school and we have had the RSC here "
An astonishing experience of delight and wonder as befits the name of Merlin. Through words and wizard puppetry the performance lifts Merlin out of time but also places him firmly in history but where exactly?
Myrddyn has returned with an urgent prophesy..... Can you guess what it is?
Recently re focussed for schools in Ceredigion this show was really well received at Cardigan secondry school on Thursday 17 April . The year 7 workshop, although interupted by a fire drill, resuted in the participants presenting convincing and thoughtful presentatons concerning climate change.
Penparcau school in Aberystwyth was the next to host the show for a range of feeder schools and year 7 students to marvel at Merlin and enthusiastically find solutions to climate change depression.
A CD roms on climate change are also available with the show. The Newport Energy centre developed and produced this resource and it is packed full of usefull information for teachers. The Forestry Commission have donated some DVDs to give away about the benefits of trees acting as carbon sinks
This show is now ready for booking into your venue or for your school. For information and technical specification link below
Or just phone 01239 615952 or email bill@smallworld.org.uk for details
Keep scroling down for more details

A drama workshop exploring issues around climate chage is being developed especially for schools and other interested organisations.
We suggest this is booked at the same time as the show and should take place after the performance.
This show was a sensation at Theatr Mwldan and captivating at Narberth Queens Hall.
The show was performed at the national Museum Cardiff for the foster carers association and apart from Em losing part of his voice things were really well received.
Manorbier community hall was well attended with an age range from 18 months to 81 years.
More shows at the National Museum Cardiff 8th December. 2 shows and National Waterfront Museum SWANSEA on the 9th December. 2 shows in a gallery space
A tour of more schools in Wales is in planning

Adams Review ![]()

His story starts in Carmarthen but his legend travels the world and travels in time..
Merlin’s
Coat provides a rare opportunity to see a new performance by Small World
Theatre that is innovative, culturally rich and funny. Local hero Merlin, played
by a giant
puppet, is assisted by chronosynchlastic (google it!) sub personalities Gwyllt
ap Fachen
and Emrys to bring forth his latest prophecy about the state of the world. What
will that be?
Following the stars they find a mysterious stone but where is Merlin?
Together the Welsh and English languages weave a tale with sparkling threads
of poetry,
history, mythology, wizardry and time travel. Plates spin, Taliesin is born,
shadow puppets
play, the worlds turns in a crazy universe where things are getting out of hand.
Will the
audience be able to help find a solution?
This performance brings together the talents of Delyth Wyn respected actress
and puppeteer
and Bill Hamblett writer, puppeteer and performer.
Prepare to be amazed! “I predict you will love this show”Merlin
If you are a community space in Wales It may be possible to book this show via The Arts Council of Wales' "Night Out" scheme and have some financial assistance.

Are there two Merlin's ? are there more?
The power of poetry, the story of Merlin's friend Taliesin and his bardic fame are explored. Merlin's latest prophesy would surely have to address Global Warming.
Merlin uses a tree analogy while pondering "consequences" In the context of the this time traveling show we can see that our role in combating global warming is not futile. We can't just wait for a magic wand solution to this problem.
Will there be a "grown up" version of this show that explores the darker side of Merlin the gray? I hope so, I am sure there is an audience for it.
Featuring the amazing multi-skilled talents of Delyth Wyn and Bill Hamblett
With heaps of thanks to Toby Downing, Ann Shrosbree and Marion Archer Fry
