Mufaro is a 45 minute performance for 5 to 9 year olds which
uses puppetry, storytelling, shadows, video and mbira music in astonishing
ways.
Probably the
first touring performance in Britain to use a combination of video , computer
animation and shadow puppetry
Nyasha, a young Welsh girl, (played by a life size puppet), discovers that
she is named after her ancestor, Nyasha, the Queen of Greater Zimbabwe...............
A delightful journey through time follows with some surprising encounters.
This performance brings stories alive for children and encourages them to
listen to, as well as to tell, the stories within their own extended family
background.
Ideas for follow up in the classroom will be provided.
