Education for Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship (ESDGC)

Small World Theatre has produced performances and workshops focusing on a range of sustainable development and social issues since 1979. Our experience in Arts and Culture for Development work in Africa, Asia and the Middle East has demonstrated how important it is for the future that young people understand and act positively in their role as global citizens.

Oxfam, Save the Children, S.O.S Sahel, The Centre for Alternative Technology and the United Nations are organisations that have commissioned us to create theatre and participatory arts projects.

Workshop ideas include:

Fashion Unfair (child labour),
Climate Change
Rights of the Child, (shadow puppet making & drama)
Recycled Fashion
Intergenerational Theatre & Diversity Training

Residencies include:

CLIMART - a 5 day programme in schools. Participants express their own distinct response to climate change through the creation of outdoor public art pieces in the school grounds. Contact us to find out how you can fund this at your school.
