Description
Step out of signal and into a rare temperate rainforest in the heart of West Wales.
When the mobile network suddenly fails, panic takes hold, screens freeze and the world abruptly disconnects. In the stillness that follows, we pause, breathe and notice something magical beginning to stir. A living landscape inhabited by native fungi, insects, birds and mammals, where the rhythms of nature connect. Beneath our feet, vast networks of mycelium weave through the roots of ancient trees quietly pulsing with communication.
Pleth blends movement, foley sound and visual storytelling with an evocative use of BSL, inviting audiences into a rich, immersive world where the delicate balance of the forest comes to life.
As technology flickers back on, the urge to reconnect with the digital world clashes with something deeper… a quieter, older rhythm that teaches us to stop, listen and truly see.
Suitable for all. This is a non-verbal performance. There are moments of loud sound to build suspense.
Theatre workshop
After the performance, pre-booked participants are invited to stay for a gentle, playful physical theatre workshop inspired by the themes of the show. Together we’ll explore ideas of interconnectedness, mycelium networks, nature and our relationship with the world around us (beyond screens and WiFi). Through movement and creative interaction, children and adults will explore how we are all connected to each other and to the natural world. The workshop is designed to be welcoming, inclusive and relaxed, particularly for children with additional needs and their families.
Places are free for the 25 participants (supported by their adult if that's appropriate). No previous theatre or movement experience needed.
