Pleth

Step out of signal and into a rare temperate rainforest in the heart of West Wales.

A beautiful puppet theatre show by Small World Theatre is announced. Set in a Welsh temperate rainforest, this is a family-friendly, BSL-accessible performance for all ages funded by The Arts Council of Wales.

When the mobile network suddenly fails, panic takes hold, screens freeze and the world abruptly disconnects. In the stillness that follows, we pause, breathe and notice something magical beginning to stir. A living landscape where the rhythms of nature connect; wings flutter, insects pollinate and small creatures scurry. Beneath our feet, vast networks of mycelium weave through the roots of ancient trees and quietly connect everything.

Pleth blends movement, foley sound and visual storytelling with an evocative use of BSL, inviting audiences into a rich, immersive world where the delicate balance of the forest comes to life.

As technology flickers back on, the urge to reconnect with the digital world clashes with something deeper… a quieter, older rhythm that teaches us to stop, listen and truly see.

Suitable for all. This is a non-verbal performance. There are moments of loud sound created live by a foley artist to build suspense.
