Puppets Count

A fun, creative project all about puppet-making and performance for learning-disabled adults. This project is supported by Welsh Government Culture Grant Scheme Grant, administered by Adfeiriad.

We’ve worked on a new piece of inclusive theatre this year, which has grown into a rich and imaginative performance. The newly formed Puppets Count Players will present a special one-off showing of Measure for Treasure at Small World Theatre on Friday 27 March 2026. Join us!

From 16 Jan to 27 Mar 2026, participants joined Small World Theatre artists every Friday for a free, hands-on creative programme.

The group explored laugh-out-loud drama games, designed and made their own puppets, and devised a brand new story with extraordinary characters and a catwalk for a stage...

Puppets Count has been a lively, imaginative project where everyone gets involved, expresses their creativity and shares a brilliant time together.

Join the Puppets Count Players for a strange, surprising and joyfully offbeat show.

This is a one-off riotous performance by an inclusive, intergenerational ensemble of budding actors with a flair for the bizarre.

When Delores’ catwalk goes spectacularly wrong, a hunt for hidden treasure spirals into delightful chaos. Expect the unexpected as the Players present a surreal fashion show featuring clowns, shadow play, puppetry and fancy costumes.

Free entry. For larger groups, please email ann@smallworld.org.uk to reserve your seats.

Duration: 40-mins.

Suitable for all.
Please note: the performance includes a stylised murder scene acted out behind a shadow screen.
